Wunderwagon^® Features

Made from HDPE Polymer

All body panels are constructed from a coextruded HDPE polymer, which is non-porous, germ resistant, impervious to fluids, easy to clean and disinfect, and hypoallergenic. This grade of HDPE is highly resistant to chipping, breaking, cracking, and staining. And, this virgin-grade material is produced and processed in the United States, and contains no harmful secondary coatings or paints.

Long Durable Handle

The Wunderwagon^® includes a smooth, extra-long handle that makes pulling easier and is durable enough to pull more than 250 lbs. The handle includes a precision tightened hinge that locks the height of the handle so it doesn’t fall to the ground. The handle also folds under the Wunderwagon^® for easy storage.

Stability & Maneuverability

The two commercial-grade casters in the front of the wagon allow for tight turns and extra stability. Two large five-inch rear wheels, with polyurethane tires and sealed bearings, have been tested on hospital/commercial floors for the smoothest ride and best long-term performance. All wheels and moving parts are protected behind the HDPE panels for safety.

High Seat & Smooth Edges

Every Wunderwagon^® includes a high seat back for extra support and comfort with spacious room to accommodate a wide range of children. All the edges of the wagon that may be touched by either the rider or caregiver are rounded and provide a comfortable soft feel.

Safety Features

We recognize the importance of safety, especially in a healthcare environment, and have made every effort to make our products completely safe. We have chosen materials, fasteners, wheels, and assembly techniques that we believe will lead to the safe use of the products that we manufacture.

Every Wunderwagon^® model meets or exceeds all of the requirements of the voluntary United States safety guidelines ASTM F963a.

Features that have been incorporated to improve safety for both patient and caregiver include:

A three-point safety belt to keep the rider safe and secure, including three Velcro closures for quick and easy belt replacement.
All Wunderwagon^® edges that may be touched by either rider or caregiver are rounded and provide a comfortable soft feel.
The HDPE polymer panels are non-porous, germ resistant, impervious to fluids, easy to clean and disinfect, and hypoallergenic.
The wheel arrangement of two large wheels in back and commercial-grade casters in front, along with the low seat height, makes the Wunderwagon^® highly stable and virtually tip-proof.

Optional Wunderwagon^® Features

GS Model with push handle

Wunderworks of America is proud to introduce our newest Wunderwagon^® – the GS Model with a push handle. The GS Model offers all of the same benefits and features as the standard HC Model Wunderwagon^®, but is configured with a push-style handle including these unique features:

Push handle makes the GS Model easy to maneuver.
Push handle allows you to watch your passenger at all times.
Push handle includes cupholders and hooks.

Mounted IV Trailer

The Wunderwagon^® IV Trailer allows a wheeled IV pole to be safely transported behind a the HC Model wagon with pull handle. The IV Trailer comes fully assembled with a heavy-duty arm for attaching a wheeled IV pole without the use of tools.

This optional kit affords children with infusion pumps or other types of IV equipment mounted to a wheeled IV pole the freedom to leave their room while maintaining the necessary care. Parents and hospital staff no longer have to drag the cumbersome IV pole along with the wagon. Increasing mobility for patients needing IV equipment gives children a psychological boost that helps contribute to the healing process.

Custom Handle Text

Because identification is so important, the Wunderwagon^® can be tailored with the addition of custom text on the handle. This gives hospitals an additional means to track the wagons and ensure they remain in the appropriate location on the hospital premises.

From a corporate perspective, personalization allows any Wunderwagon^®> to recognize the individuals, organizations, or businesses that make contributions to the hospital. Since the text is physically “cut” into the material as part of the manufacturing process, the contributor’s commitment to the community and its children can be easily and clearly acknowledged.

Custom Back Text

From a corporate perspective, personalization allows any Wunderwagon^® to recognize the individuals, organizations, or businesses that make contributions to the hospital. License plates are printed in full-color and UV cured, and are great for color logos, photographs, etc..
